The making of a $47.50 Dining Area (Part 1)

Yes, I said $47.50. It just gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling all over.

So this started with wanting to replace the 80's light fixture that was hanging where a dining table should be. Wish I had taken a pic of it before our DS toted it off to the building for storage. Think clear and etched glass with brass trim and you get the picture. Of course this made it stand out even more and the fact that it wasn't hanging over a table but instead right in the walk way. My DH and DS can testify due to the number times they walked into it. The reason the space is open is because I stole liberated the kitchen table and moved it to the spare room for my sewing, cutting, ironing, piling, stashing, hording, er um...too much? Anyway...that's how the corner became empty.

So began the search. Off to prowl on Craigslist. I had a round table in mind. I thought the kind that I wanted would be too big for the space and would cost more than I would be willing to spend. So I was looking for something small, even a two seat bistro table would work since we have the bar to sit at and there are only three of us. Let me add here that we have two bar stools and since I moved the kitchen table we either had to eat in shifts or someone had to stand. I tried to find a bar stool to match the two we already have but no luck.

While culling through listings day after day, I happened upon one that had a very pretty light fixture along with the dining table and chairs. I wasn't in love with the table, we didn't need the chairs, but they would only sell it all together. Well, poo! Having discovered a chandelier that I liked, I changed the search from a table to  lights. It wasn't long before I found this beauty and I knew she was meant to be mine. To be continued...
